Payroll Officer - Aurion

• Paying $51.12-$56.72ph + super
• Brisbane CBD location with hybrid working flexibility
• 6 month temp assignment with potential for extension.

About the Role

Our client is a QLD state government organisation based in the Brisbane CBD. They are urgently seeking an A03 Payroll Officer to come in and join their team on a 6 month temp contract with potential for extension.

Candidates for this role must have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a similar discipline.

• Previous State government experience

• Aurion payroll system experience

• Proven high volume end to end payroll processing experience

Key responsibilities include:

• End-to-End Processing: Manage fortnightly payroll cycles and calculations in collaboration with the payroll team and venue staff.
• System Maintenance: Update and maintain accurate employee data within the HRIS and Time & Attendance systems.
• Compliance & Advisory: Provide sound advice on payroll issues based on industrial instruments, internal policies, and procedures.
• Reporting & Year-End: Support the administration of superannuation, taxation, and essential month-end and year-end reporting.
• Administrative Support: Execute efficient filing, record management, and general administrative tasks for the payroll department.
• Stakeholder Relations: Deliver high-level communication and customer service to resolve inquiries for internal and external parties.
• Governance & Integrity: Ensure all processes align with onboarding delegations, payroll policies, and workplace safety (WHS/EEO) standards.

About You

You will be an experienced Payroll professional with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.

The successful candidate will possess:

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a similar discipline.
• Previous State government experience
• Aurion system experience
• Proven high volume end to end payroll processing experience
